2012

Steve Sabella is planning three projects for 2012.

1 - METAMORPHOSIS- photo collage artworks (work in progress). CLICK HERE TO VIEW TWO

2 - A collaboration project with artist Jeanno Gaussi (Berlin based artist who originally comes from Kabul). An installation that creates a link between Kabul and Jerusalem. Through charged, ambivalent and aesthetic 'material' the work 'celebrates' transcendence from the 'state of exile' and creates unexpected connections.

3 - End of summer 2009, Sabella decided to go back to Jerusalem after a two year absence living in London. Looking for a place to stay in Jerusalem, paradoxically, he ended up renting (from an Israeli family) for 38 days one of the Palestinian homes occupied by Israel in 1948. At the same time, ironically his house in London was sublet to an Israeli family from Jerusalem.  It was inevitable that Sabella creates an artwork about this charged and unexpected turn of events.
